After the amount of rain we've had in the last few days I think we can officially call a halt to the hosepipe ban. John, Hugh, Hannah, Terri, Iva and Gary got all the horses out this morning in absolutely filthy conditions and five worked on Railway Land grass.
Below we have Zarosa (Terri O'Rourke) alongside Grand Liaison (Hannah Nunn), then newly-named two-year-old Orla's Rainbow (Iva Milickova) with Silken Thoughts (John) followed by the ever-enthusiastic Ethics Girl (Gary King) working on her own.
The weather is rather playing havoc with running plans at the moment, but that's no different for any other stable. Folkestone was abandoned yesterday, meaning that Zarosa and Grand Liasion missed their engagements, but hopefully they will run at Windsor and/or Leicester next week.
Orla's Rainbow will not go to Yarmouth if the ground remains this soft and will now hopefully make his debut the week after next, while Asterisk will have an entry at Bangor a week on Friday. We'll wait to see if Sandown is on this Saturday, where we hope Silken Thoughts will make her seasonal return in the mile handicap in which the Flat jockeys take on the National Hunt boys. It's always great fun to be at Sandown on Whitbread day so let's hope that racing is able to go ahead.
